Insecurities

We all have our own set of insecurities and its okay to have them.

It took 20 years of my life to figure out that nobody in this world is perfect.

You have a big nose? Doesn’t matter!

You have thin hair/ premature baldness? Doesn’t matter

You have crooked teeth? Doesn’t matter at all!!

Your skin color, your height, your societal status none of them matters.

What actually matters is how much happy you are in doing the slightest of the things.Your passion for getting things done, the smile on your face when you eat your favorite food and a friend to share your happiness with is all what you need in life.

IF YOU CAN’T LOVE YOURSELF FIRST THEN YOU CAN’T EXPECT ANYONE ELSE TO LOVE YOU.EMBRACE YOUR INSECURITIES.

*STORY TIME*

I have always been self conscious of my teeth. Right from my 6th standard I had this feeling that my teeth were crooked and I wanted that perfect smile the girls on movies have.

I have once been told by a friend that my teeth looked little out of the way. She didn’t make a big fuss about it and I laughed it off but since then I was always concious about not showing off too many teeth while smiling. Fast forward few weeks after this, I pestered my mom into getting braces for my teeth. After a year I got the perfect set of teeth. The same friend compliments me for my smile. Shouldn’t I be smiling and happy than ever for getting the smile I wanted? Guess what, I’m not.

I repeat I’m not happy after getting what I wanted. Why I am still conscious about my smile despite of having perfect set of teeth?Okay I will not keep you waiting to know the reason. It is because I realized down the line that my smile, my moods, my happiness and had nothing to do with my teeth. There is no correlation between them, both are just independent variables. I realized everything was just in my head.

Nobody is perfect. Repeat after me “NOBODY IS PERFECT”. If you hate your curly hair and spend money to get them straightened, you still find something is missing. Then you realize that you need to lose weight fit in the jeans, you workout really well and finally lose the weight, what happens then? Then you come across another insecurity of yours.Had you just accepted your insecurity and flaunted them, you would be happier than ever. Trust me!!
