Hi readers!
We all know that Google is potentially one of the greatest creation. Google has updated it's policies regarding Play Store and here are some of the facts you need to know.
Past week, Google updated some of its policies for app developers across the world but as of now the company has delayed the policy in India. There are some additional questions from the Indian community and Google wants to address them all. They have set a timeline till 31st March 2022.
Google has made it a compulsion for app developers on Play store to operate its in app payment system. So primarily under this system the app developers will have to pay a fee of 30% to Google. This is only pertinent to less than 3% of developers on Google Play. For all other developers in the world except for India the time given is till 30th September 2021.
It has been delayed in India due to some issues put forward by the Indian startups mainly Paytm. For a short while Google has removed Paytm from play store for violating certain policies. Although they have resolved the issues but has been making hubbub regarding Google taking over the app space and making it prejudiced on app developers.
Indian startups have made a caucus to counter Google Play stores policies, that's one of the reasons why Google is facing a heat in India. Here is short example on how this policy will affect the app developers and how will this benefit google.
Google has also simplified that developers can distribute their app in whatever way they want it to be, freedom and flexibility has been given to the developers to distribute the app throughout Play Store or other websites or preloads all of this can be done without using Google Play's billing system.
Developers have also put forward a question regarding whether they can communicate with their customers directly regarding offers, payment and other way to pay other than the app. For this Google has clarified that they can communicate with the customers and there is no such restriction and they can even sell it at a lower price on other app stores.
