Hi y'all
The covid vaccination drive has raised several questions within organizations regarding when will people be able to return to the office and can begin work normally.
We can now clearly see that how large organizations are adapting towards a hybrid workplace because that's going to be the future. Now from where did this idea come up? A LinkedIn post made by Unilever stated that “ For all the sadness the pandemic has brought and is still bringing, one thing I hope we can take from this is the flexibility it has brought to businesses and to people.” This post made by Unilever has changed the perspective of the workplace in the future.
Businesses have to change for the better, Unilever already had flexible working practices and now it's embracing even more. We all know for a fact that things will not go back to how it was before 2020. It is time that large and small organizations lookout for opportunities for flexible and agile working practices.
Another example I could give you is about PepsiCo, they recently announced a new policy of “Work that Works” which states that employees don't have to come daily to the workplace, only 2 days in a week would be good and the rest of the time they can work from home. According to reports given by the Times of India employers who offer flexibility to their employees see a 16% rise in productivity and less absenteeism
PepsiCo India also stated that previously employees had a doubt regarding this model of work and had a fear of productivity getting affected, now the myth is busted.
With the current situation, it is evident that working practices have to be changed and people are convinced of the advantages of a hybrid model of working. Yes, the employees do miss the connection which they had while working offline from the office but with the help of the Hybrid system, they can see their friends 2-3 times a week and also work at home according to their flexibility.
If we look at this from an employer's point of view, the results are delivered and productivity has increased. Employees are happy with the model and are willing to contribute more to the organization. Managers and head staff are looking forward to opening offices gradually according to the pandemic situation and at the same time provide flexibility and safety to their employees.
