In this blog I am going to discuss about top most 7 rivers in south India
There are 8 major river systems in india and more than 400rivers in total.
Rivers play an important role in the lives of the Indian people due to their crucial importance in sustenance and their place in Indian religions.
Let us now talk about top 7 RIVERS in south India.
7. WARDHA RIVER
A wardha river is also known as varada river .it is a major river in vidharbha which is located at Maharashtra and orginates in the satpura range. It flows into the wain ganga river which is located at the geographic centre of india in the state of maharashtra.it is famous for many social reformers who have called it home. Mahatma Gandhi built his last ashram in varadha
6. TUNGABHADRA RIVER
Tungabhadra river is a river in india which starts and flows through the state of Karnataka in Southern part of india during most of its course.
Before flowing along the border between telangana and andha Pradesh this ultimately joining Krishna near gundimalla village gadwal district of Telangana
5. PENNA RIVER
Penna river is a located at the southern part of india. Penna rises at nandhi hills at Chikkaballap ur district of the state Karnataka.it runs north and east through the States of Karnataka and Andhra pradesh to empty into bay of Bengal.
4. CAUVERY RIVER
Kaveri river is a Indian river flowing through the States of Karnataka and tamilnadu. In ancient times it was also called as ponni in Tamil literature.it rises at tala kaveri on the brahmagiri range in the western ghats of Karnataka at an elevation of about 1341m and flows for about 800km before it's outfall into bay of Bengal.
3. BHIMA RIVER
Bhima river is a major river in western India and South India.it flows south east for 861 kilometres through Maharashtra Karnataka and Telangana before entering into river Krishna.
2. KRISHNA RIVER
River Krishna is the fourth largest river in terms of water inflows and river basins area in india after ganga Godavari and bhramaputra.it is a major source of irrigation in the States like telangana Andhra Pradesh Maharashtra and Karnataka.
And the top river is :
Godavari river is India's second largest river after ganga and also third largest river in india. It drains about 10 percent of India's total geographical area. It is located at godavari district in andhrapradesh.its source is in Triambakeshwar nasik and maharashtra.it flows east for about 1,465 kilometres draining the states of Maharashtra Telangana Andhra Pradesh odisha and chattisgarh.
Nature is a beautiful thing happen to all of us right all these places gives us a lot of peace .and we have right to protect them and not to pollute.
