Hey people ! I hope you guys are doing good ! so , in the last blog I shared about my experience of the 2 days trip . I said I went to my native temple , so today’s blog will be on that only . I actually told you guys , that I have left a hint and did you find out ? Any guesses ? If not ,read this blog to find out what is interesting ? let’s start ..
What the thing is , did you guys notice that I said I reached the temple at night and left the temple the next morning itself . So when would I worship God? Normal temples open in the morning and close at night, right ? even some temples will be open only till afternoon . but his temple is very rare .
The temple is “ POTHU AVUDAYAR KOVIL” , located in parakalakottai , a small village in pattukottai , thanjavur . That's where my grandpa was raised . so , this temple is like our ancestral place [ kula deivam kovil ] . It is a shivan temple . The special and very unique thing about it is , the temple will be open only on Monday night between 12 to 4 . it is not like any other temple that is open in day time .weird, right ? I also got the same feeling in the beginning ,but now I'm used to it . The temple has a huge mandap where people can wait until they show the god at night . People like us who travel from long distances and local people who want to worship can stay there till morning .
Actually , there will be no idol of the god , the fact is that the god is the big roots of a vilvam tree . They worship the roots of those trees as an avatar or idol of shivan . the story behind this temple , there were two saints who had a discussion about the topic “family is good” or “ leaving everything to worship god is good” . eventually , this changed into an argument and they started a fight .Then , lord shiva came to the spot to give them a judgement . the tree in which Shivan sat was the tree which turned as a god that was worshipped by people from all over the world . my grandpa said this story to me .
so guys amazing right ? the way to the temple will be so beautiful occupied by nature . you guys can also visit it !
