We were waiting at the decided spot, at the parking lot of Karnala fort. We had planned to go on this track as a stress relief. It's 6:00am in the morning. We are standing at a beautiful place, searching from where exactly sun will rise…
“Where are they? How much time we still need to wait?” Harshad asked me 3rd time in last 15 minutes. And to be clear we just got here half an hour ago. I said to tease him, “Why you are eagerly waiting for them? I mean yeah, we should start tracking as early as possible but still… and here I thought you might enjoy some alone time with me.” I saw him starring at me in disbelieve and I just laughed at loud. He irritatedly said, “When will you grow up?”
So, let me introduce you to Harshad first - Harshad is my colleague. We work in a same MNC. He joined just 6 months back and I was his mentor. We became friends as soon as we met. And now he is my New best friend. But Harshad have this major crush on me, You can see that from far away. Cause he never even try to hide it. But he didn't either told me about that in words. And I like it in that way better as I am not currently interested to take any kind of responsibility of relationship. But I tease him time to time. I enjoy seeing his frustrated expression. We both got so bored, only working for months and planned this little trip. It was my idea and he hoped in as soon as I asked. Our other colleges turn us down. So we asked our friends, ‘More the merrier’ low. Fortunately my one friend said ‘Yes’. She was bringing her boyfriend along. And that way our trip turned into bike riding trip as well.
We supposed to meet at 6:00am, in the parking lot of Karnala. It's 6:20 already and they are still not here. I met her boyfriend before, he is a nice guy. I was excited to meet him again as well. It will be the opportunity to bond with my bestie's future husband. And that's what I thought…
Before Harshad open his mouth to ask me again “where are they?” 4th time, I saw a bike stopping near to us. I widely smile and waved as soon as I saw Bharti stepping down from a bike, propering herself. I went close to her to scold her for being late. But my steps stuck to the ground as soon as I saw rider she came with, removing helmet from his head. Looking at my shocked expression, Bharti step closer to me and said, “Hey, I was going to tell you that, Viki( her boyfriend) cancelled at last minute yesterday. He got some family emergency. And I thought you'll be angry if I cancelled as well. So, I asked Aaditya and he was available. Believe me he said 'No' first as I told him you'll be there as well, but I put some efforts and convinced him. I hope you don't mind.”
I looked at Aaditya, he was looking straight towards me, like trying to read me. And as we made eye contact He said with smile, “ Long time now see Miss.omniscient.” (Omniscient - the person who knows everything). I heard that word after whole 2 years. I was totally blank and couldn't figure out how should I response….
