Hello, bloggers today, I'm going to write a blog on a different niche i.e Parenting in which I would like to determine my thoughts on the relationship between a child to his/her family and how a family could develop their child to acquire the anti-social behavioural patterns with the help of socialisation process.

Family is an enduring agency of socialisation because it plays a significant role in the development of an individual relationship with his/her family. Family refers to the fundamental unit of a child's life because it provides the fateful and determining influence on the child.

The Family is said to be the 'Cradle of Social Virtues' because it helps a child to interact with the members of the family group that develops the child's orientation constituting the core values like cooperation, tolerance, self-sacrifice, love & affection.

Family is a basic social Institution thereby it is regarded as a core component because it plays a crucial role in the development of the individual and society. Family acts as a key agency of socialization in all human societies because it transforms a child into a member of the human community, meanwhile family is the first factor for transmitting culture to children.

According to sociologists, they confess that the family is a small society because it acts as a transmission belt between the individual and society. Family acts as an essential agent of socialisation because it provides a nurturing relationship between the parents and their children where parents are being sensitive to fulfilling the needs of their children, therefore, it helps to stimulate the level of curiosity which makes them socialize and contribute to the positive ways of society.

A child's upbringing by the family contributes to developing a habit of respect and tolerance for elders. While on the other hand, the socialization process is done by the members of the family to their children develops anti-social behavioural patterns in their growth.

Furthermore, a child is being affected by the other factors of socialisation that may include the size of the family, socio-economic background, occupation of the parents, over-parenting, parental pressure and parental negligence.

Since childhood is the most impressionable age it is noticeable that marks the dominance of male and female subservience in the family where it is the mother who is the breadwinner, wields power to control children and the children observe the roles and responsibilities of their parents either mother or father.

While Also it is the family that determines, to a great extent, a child’s race, language, religion, class, and political affiliation, all of which comprise the child's self-concept nevertheless, the way a child ascertains her/his relationships for better or worse with the rest of the world later in life are shaped, to a great extent, by her/his primary socialization in the family.
