Greetings!!!!

This article discusses the movie from 2010. See Tangled (disambiguation) for other usage.

Produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, Tangled is an American animated musical adventure fantasy comedy film from 2010[2]. Based loosely on the German fairy tale "Rapunzel" found in the Brothers Grimm collection of folktales, the picture was produced by Roy Conli, directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard (in the former's feature directorial debut), and written by Dan Fogelman. Tangled, which stars Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and Donna Murphy in leading roles,[7] is a story of Rapunzel, a forgotten little princess who longs to leave her isolated tower and has magically yearning blonde hair. She allows an invader to let her explore a realm she has never been to before.

Tangled, which was first conceptualized and suggested by Disney animator Glen Keane in 2001, took six years to produce at an estimated cost of $260 million. If this estimate is correct, it would make Tangled the most costly animated feature film ever as well as one of the most expensive movies of all time. The movie used a distinct artistic approach, combining elements of traditional animation and computer-generated imagery (CGI) to give the sense of a painting through non-photorealistic depiction. Returning to Disney, composer Alan Menken (who had previously worked on several animated films) composed the music for Tangled along with writer Glenn Slater. Rapunzel was renamed Tangled before its premiere, ostensibly in an attempt to promote the movie as gender-neutral.[5]

November 14, 2010, saw the Los Angeles premiere of Tangled at the El Capitan Theatre. On November 24, the film was released nationwide. With $592 million in box office receipts worldwide, of which $200 million came from ticket sales in the US and Canada, the movie debuted as 2010's eighth-highest-grossing picture. Critics gave Tangled favorable reviews, praising the film's characters, storyline, animation, and musical score. Among the many honors for which the movie was nominated was Best Original Song at the 83rd Academy Awards. Before he died in 2014, it was Richard Kiel's final cinematic role. On March 29, 2011, the movie was released on DVD and Blu-ray; later that year, a short film called Tangled Ever After was produced; and a television series debuted.

Numerous accolades have been nominated for the movie. Tangled was nominated by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for two Golden Globes, however, it was defeated by Burlesque and Toy Story 3 in the categories of Best Original Song for "I See the Light" and Best Animated Feature Film, respectively.[117] Along with two nominations for the Annie Awards—one each for Best Animated Feature Film and Writing in a Feature Production—the movie also garnered two nods for the Broadcast Film Critics Association in the same categories, although it lost to Toy Story 3 and 127 Hours [118].
