Hello folks!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas. Usually, I am busy during Christmas as I wouldn't be touching my PC because either I am out or there are guests, or I didn't have a blog post then to maintain but this time it is an exception. It is because I am not where I used to be every Christmas. Back home, with my family.
Well, here also I am with my family. But you know what I mean; this is my first Christmas in the UK. Home, away from Home. So how did it go? Well, it went well. I like the Christmas season in the UK though I haven't explored much. But seeing the lights all at night especially gives a whole-together different vibe which I really like. And I wish I could walk through the streets listening to music and getting lost in a zone, not too lost that I am unaware of where I am, but like a mix of both. Since I am not staying at a place of my own, there are restrictions. Also, it is too cold to step out so yeah.
The highlight of this Christmas is not just opening the presents or going to the Church, but the meal which was altogether a delicious treat and I was glad that I was part of it. Even if I was staying at a different place, I would still be joining for Christmas otherwise I am alone which I wouldn't mind. I imagined sitting alone in front of a fireplace with only that lighting sipping a hot drink and listening to carols in a radio or phone now that it is the 21st century but yeah. Christmas is fun alone and also with family but the latter is important.
No matter where I am, Christmas is always at home with family. I enjoy the beginning of Christmas; the festive month followed by the week and I enjoy it all. Back in India, the celebrations begin in the beginning of December but here in the West, it starts in November. That is an exciting and vibrant part of all because you are looking forward to it and when it ends, you feel sad though the vibes and colours are still there New Year. But when Christmas Day ends, it feels sad. It is one of the few days that make me sad (not always) when it ends (the second being my birthday.) The only difference, I don't look forward to my birthday from the beginning of the month but the Christmas countdown begins much early.
Anyways, Christmas 2022 went well compared to last Christmas which wasn't great at all because there were no people. That wasn't the worse but not a good one either. The 2020 Christmas was good in spite of the pandemic, we enjoyed it.
Here's to more Christmas and many other celebrations. Once again, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
