Hello everyone, since the beginning of the week, I was pushing myself to write as there has to be at least 3 blogs per week which will benefit the reward points and now it is almost the mid week. But I am not here to talk about that. Let's come to the topic.
While thinking of what to write, it isn't the title that comes to your mind first but rather any random thought that struck you and wanted to share about the same. This blog is in relation to that thought of realisation and that led to the title of the blog. So what made me think like that? As it is the pandemic and we all had to stay indoors for safety protocols, we had a lot of time. And to pass time, we do various activities. One of them being watching movies.
Well I love watching movies and would still do even if there wasn't any pandemic. And I miss watching it in theatres because that is all together a different experience but now it has been confined in laptop screens or TV screens at the moment but still enjoy the viewing experience. Because while watching a movie, we feel like we are in a totally different world, like in their world. The same thing happens while reading a book.
However, recently I found that I wasn't really able to enjoy the viewing experiences and it isn't because of distraction as movies don't tend to distract you but rather attract you. In this case, I realised that while being in a different world, I am trying to create a world for myself. Yes, you can relate to the movies, to the characters and to the setting and feel their emotions, but you can't become one of those claiming it to be yourself because that isn't your world or your life and you don't belong there.
What I do is while watching, instead of enjoying it, I kind of imagine myself and someone else in that setting which I shouldn't as it deprives others from being in their world and me from enjoying the viewing experience. This isn't just about the movies but in life also we face such things.
When we get invited to someone's house or a function and attend a concert or anything, we feel that we are actually a part of it. Yes, we are a part of it as they make us feel a part of it because we want us to feel a part of it and it's the same with watching movies or reading a book. But that doesn't mean that we take over it and own it because it wasn't ours in the very first place. We weren't there in the beginning of it and so we have no right to take over it. If we wanted to own something, we have to build it on our own and that gives us a sense of belongingness which doesn't last long while being in others' world as it was never ours.
So that's all for the blog. You can be part of someone's world but never own it as it isn't yours. And if you want to own a world, build one for yourself. Thank you so much reading. I will see you in the next blog.
