A Letter To Your Self

Dear Mr Blake,

Hope you are doing well. Let me start by saying how you are in a really good space. You are where you wanted to be and you worked towards it and it clearly needs to be appreciated. Having said that, it doesn't end there. You have to still keep thriving for it. You have to work even harder to sustain. You never realise the value of something till you lose it. So I am trying to say: make good use of the opportunity. Get out of your comfort zone. Push yourself harder. Stay consistent and stop procrastinating.

As you grow older, time gets more valuable and you can't afford to waste it anymore. Don't keep it for later because later becomes never so if you want to do something, do it now. Do things immediately with the thought that you wouldn't get another chance. This is something of your interest, so work on it even harder, and don't take it for granted. It is not what you have achieved in the first impression but you have got to maintain consistency only then you will be appreciated otherwise you are termed a one-time wonder (which you aren't).

You are capable of great things. You said you want to be self-sufficient and independent and what are you doing about it? It is hard to stay motivated because of external factors but you have got to do it or else it is going to affect you in the long run.

Sure, you have some regrets here and there but don't end up in an even bigger one when you have a really good chance to redeem yourself. Maybe you wished to have been prepared while coming here but pushed it because of distraction and hoping you would be more involved and consistent over here. But is that the case over here?

You have got a car to practice driving back home and how many times have you used it? You have bought an induction cooker to learn cooking and did you try it even once? You had five months and could have used the time to work on your body and mind. Did you do it? When you skip some activities of your daily routine, you end up skipping more, and that results in doing nothing making you feel even more useless. Do you want that?

You feel that there is a lot of time but there isn't. Like the last week of being in India, there was a lot to do and had to miss out on a lot of stuff. You regret not saying goodbye to my neighbour when you saw him two days before moving out and only wished his family. And also to the landlady but spoke through phone. You wish you had caught up with some of my colleagues in diploma for a last hang out. you wish you had met my tutor IELTs before leaving and I had to move out immediately. There are slight regrets here and there but not the major ones for sure. Like you didn't miss out on the solo trip to Manali or even visiting Bangalore one last time even though you were told you can do it some other time and you were certain that the other time wouldn't come anytime sooner. Kuddos to you for that.

You have said that 2022 was a breakthrough year, well it was and it clearly is. All you need to do is, end it in style. Part One of 2022 was a big blockbuster leaving 2022 the pressure to do even more. But it reaches the mark. But you took the big leap and now you are abroad for your studies. Kuddos to that! You have worked for it, so make good use of it Blake. You can do it, and you have got to do it. You have shocked a lot of people with your choices this year. Shock them even more through your consistency and even bigger choices. Don't go back to that Blake who was stuck in a rut and only thinking but not doing. It is a request. Sure, it gets harder here but that's the challenge. Present yourself. Don't be afraid to make mistakes only then you will be appreciated and guided for your enthusiasm. It is a settling process but it's been two months you are here and a lot should have happened by now. No problem! Time is there, not for losing but for utilising it fully. This is not to discourage you but because I care for you. And I want you to excel and be happy. You can do this. And you will do this. Let's do this. Game's not Over. 2022 is your year.

Yours sincerely

Mr. Blake
