Hey all,
Just a few days ago a thought came to my mind and I believe that it is really necessary especially today that children must be aware of what sex is, what does it mean, how it affects our lives and so. It’s important because due to this lack of awareness many children fall prey to harassment, molestation, rapes and many other heinous crimes done by none other than their close ones, or known ones. And if not for them then also there are so many people out there, looking for a single opportunity to harass small, little, innocent children who are unaware of such things.
It’s may indeed affect them mentally and psychologically for a short period as any other knowledge like this may do but it’s better to affect them mentally for a smaller period than to let them fall prey to those people who are ready to affect them physically, psychologically, mentally and emotionally. I truly believe that every child may it be a girl or a boy must be taught and told about such things in both their schools as well as by their parents too. I believe so because children from ages 11-17 are mostly so tender and bleak that people take advantage of their innocence very easily.
So, according to me, every child should be aware of such things as we are told about bad touch and good touch. This also is not discussed very openly and properly as it should be. Sex education is something that must be taught in schools. Schools should include such topics in the curriculum and if not in the syllabus then at least they can arrange a few webinars and seminars for the same. Such topics must be discussed once a week in every class and there should be ted talks related to or based on such topics too. It’s all about creating awareness among the children. Also, parents should talk and discuss such topics with their children too. Even if it is a boy, then also it’s important to let your child know about these topics and teach him to be a nice guy in the future. Today we need to teach our boys to behave, be well mannered and respect girls more than we need to teach our girls anything. And yes, please there is nothing to be shy of. Do talk with your ward.
Thank you.
