7 C's Of Communication (1)
Hey all,
Today, I will talk about a very desired and valued skill that is required in almost all the fields and spheres of life too. So, the trait I’m referring to is ‘Communication.’
Communication is a basic yet the most required element that is looked for in an individual. In a corporate environment, your communication skills will affect your personality and your outlook too. Earlier it was not given much heed but today when the economy is spreading ad developing at a fast rate, such skills are needed and hence asked or looked for. Your words, way of speaking, the accent in which you choose to speak, clarity of thoughts, speed of answering, everything counts.
So, I would like to talk about the 7 C’s of communication. To start with-
- Clarity- Clarity helps to make communication clear and not vague. You must have clarity of thought in your psyche if you want to reflect clarity in your speaking. So, make sure you are through and sure about whatever you are speaking about and then only talk about it. Otherwise, people usually make a fool out of themselves by guessing or just talking aimlessly. Even when you have a vague idea about the topic being discussed, try not to interfere and attain some clarity by listening to others or by subtly refusing to comment.
- Completeness- Completeness tells you to include all relevant information. Have a complete idea of what you are going to communicate. Don’t rely on pointers or summaries. Be thorough with your topic that is to be communicated. And rely on the relevant ones. After analysing the ample amount of information that you have, cut short your pointers and include only the most pivotal and relevant to the topic information only. Don’t use irrelevant information and be aware of your words.
- Concreteness- Concreteness is finding facts and figures to support your content. Your words must be backed up with solid facts and figures. As at times, your statements are cross-checked too and you can be cross-questioned too. So, you must know the background and the facts that support your statement. Also, such facts give weightage to your saying and you feel much more confident and sure while conveying your thoughts. So, do back your saying.
The rest four C’s will be discussed in the upcoming blog. Till then take care of yourselves.
Thank you.
