It's been more than a year since the deadly virus has entered our life and is not yet ready to leave. The first case in India was reported in March,2020 ,rapid increase in the cases after that led to lockdown all over India to curb the spread of the disease. The virus did not only spread in India but also all over the world and thus was declared ‘pandemic’. According to many reports the virus is apparently made by China to destroy various countries without actually waging war. Well, if that is true then i must say China is succeeding in doing so because even after a year the virus continues to spread, killing people all around the globe. After USA, India has the highest number of cases which has effected our economy is the worst way.
UNCERTAINTY , is what this pandemic has taught me. When this disease started spreading no one knew exactly how to treat it, what medicine to be given, how to stop its spread, when will the vaccine be made, when will people resume their old life, when will everyone be safe, when will the lockdown get over and for how long are we supposed to wear mask. During the first lockdown, initially everyone was busy learning new things, following their passion, doing stuffs for which they didn't had the time before, office going people were happy because of the ‘work from home' scheme as it was more relaxing, students were relaxed as the classes was not going on , but with time feelings changed. Even though people were inside their house, there was a constant feeling of fear, worry, concern lurking around. Everyone one was worried that they or their family member might be the next to catch the virus as the cases were increasing day by day.
When a member of the family catches virus, it effects the whole family mentally. The person who is sick is supposed to be isolated for minimum of 14 days which leads to loneliness, anxiety, suffocation and boredom. While the other members who are not able to meet their loved ones suffers from fear that they might lose them, whether the medication is effective or not, how long will it take to recover.
Many who are not effected by the virus are suffering in their own way. The suffocation of being inside the four walls and not going out, meeting friends, having normal, social life, with work pressure , projects/assignments pressure, fear of the pandemic, uncertainty, and that same mundane, monotonous life has effected people's mental health.
thankyou.
