With lockdown and people being just online , there is dearth of heartily laughter. Meeting new friends cracking funny jokes among friends has become a past time . People are just over burdened with stress. Today in this blog, I will share with you one story which is famously known as “ three laughing monks ” that may change your perspective towards life.
Once upon a time there were three monks who used to move around different villages and they used to laugh aloud in the marketplace. Their infectious smile made other people nearby laugh out loud and the atmosphere would become fascinating . Their only motive was to make people laugh and tell them to live their life with a smile always on their face. This is the reason they were famously known as three laughing monks.
One day one of their friend died and all the people in the village were thinking and expecting they would cry and weep at that moment . But they laughed a lot looking at their third friend who was no more . People asked them why they are laughing their belly out by the side of the corpse of the third friend to which they spoke for the very first time and replied that their brother has won .They always used to wonder who would die first. And for all those years he has lived with them they had no better way to give them last send off. That is why they laughed.
Their friend's last wish was when he dies they should not change his clothes as he believed that all throughout his life he has never been unclean. And when the body was put to fire there was sudden blast of firecrackers as he has hid them beneath his clothes and looking at this all the villagers started laughing and two other monks said "You rascal , you are dead, but you have defeated us once again.
It is as if they have understood what life is and there is no benefit being remorseful or brood over things not in your control. Life is to be enjoyed so enjoy every moment in life.
Take life easily, playfully , non-seriously. Seriousness is a disease , the greatest disease of the soul and playfulness the greatest health - OSHO
