Varanasi is one of the prominent cities as per the Hinduism and Buddhism depiction. Following various statements and articles, looking at amongst the various temples and monuments, one will easily get mesmerized by the beauty of the city. Kashi depicts the various untold stories about the incarnation of a civilization from its very beginning.

Banaras is situated on the banks of river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh India, about 320 kilometers away in the South-East direction from Lucknow. A major hud of various religions, "Kashi" is one of the holiest cities amongst the seven sacred cities of Hinduism and Jainism which has played a crucial role in framing Buddhism and Ravidassia across the world.

Buddhism was founded here back in 528 BCE during Buddha's first sermon “The Sitting in the Motion of Dharma” near Sarnath. Varanasi has a strong connection with Hinduism as well as different sects of it, as a result, the importance of Benaras in terms of religion has touched various heights till the 8th century when Adi Sankaracharya established a sect of worship of Lord Shiva.

However, the Muslim ruler has taken various attempts to invade the temples of Varanasi and tried to diminish the beauty of Kaashi but that wasn't enough to stop the ongoing process of Hindu devotion.

Varanasi is not only famous for its holiness but for literature and poetry as well including Tulsidas for their very famous “Ram Charitra Manas” which is depicting the various aspects of the entire lifespan of Lord Ram and other life-changing poetries. Several other poets were also part of the Bhakti movement in Varanasi including Kabir Das and Sant Ravidas.

Diggin into the Indian mythology, The city Varanasi was founded by Lord Shiva. Following a mythological story that during a fight between Lord Shiva and Brahma, one of five heads of Brahma was torn off by Lord Shiva. But as a symbol of victory, Shiva took his head into his hand and always carried his head within himself but when he came to Varanasi, the head was dissolved once it dropped over the plain. Since then, the city is considered holy for Hindus. Moreover, the relevance of Kashi's kingdom was also associated with the famous history book "Mahabharat".

Looking at the current scenario, after various destruction done by the Mughal Emporers, currently, the Kashi Vishwanath temple is begin rebuilt again under Prime Minister Modi's regime. The temple in Varanasi is again establishing strong pillars so that it could not be taken down again.
