The dowry system in India refers to the durable goods, cash, and real or movable property that the bride's family gives to the groom, his parents and his relatives as a condition of the marriage.

AND ACCORDING TO ME YES “DOWRY STILL GIVES IMPORTANCE IN OUR SOCIETY”.. WHETHER A GIRL IS EDUCATED OR NOT …

GIRLS EDUCATION NEVER GIVES IMPORTANCE IN FRONT OF DOWRY . A WELL EDUCATED GIRL WHICH IS ALSO EQUALS TO MAN , NEVER GIVES IMPORTANCE WHEN IT COMES TO SO CALLED “DAHEJ”.

Sometimes a woman is murdered "BY HER HUSBAND OR IN LAWS" when her family can’t raise the requested dowry gift. Other times, “WOMEN COMMIT SUICIDE ” after facing harassment and abuse for failing to meet the dowry price.

THIS EVIL SYSTEM CANNOT BE STOPPED EVEN IN TODAY ERA WHERE A WOMAN WITH AMAZING QUALIFICATION HAS TO GO THROUGH INLAWS HARASSMENT.

Still the mentality of man and there family is very poor , they want beautiful girl with restriction on her , lots of dowry and she has to also do household chores . IS THIS WHY WOMAN ARE MADE ?? JUST TO IMPRESS MAN AND HIS FAMILY ..

Women who can’t pay an expected dowry price or who are unable to make additional payments in the future are often subject to harassment and abuse. Other times, husbands or in-laws throw acid on a woman or set on fire

The violence ranges from brutal beatings, emotional torture, withholding money, throwing them out of the house, keeping them away from their children, keeping mistresses openly,” or in extreme cases, “burning the wife alive,” ….

To keep dowry prices low, families also keep girls from going to school, because dowry prices  increase with each additional year of formal education..

Families also view school fees for a girl as a waste of money because that investment will not be recouped by the family later in life. Further, girls are often kept at home to do labor for training to be better housewives.  

SOCIETY MUST NEED TO CHANGE THEIR MENTALITY , WHETHER ITS A BOY OR GIRL , WHY TO MAKE DIFFERENCE WHEN GOD ITSELF NOT MAKE ANY COMPARISION . GOD GIVES LIFE TO BOTH , THEN WHY A GIRL HAS TO GO THROUGH MENTAL TORTURE ….

WHY ONLY SHE DO HOUSEHOLD WORK , WHY CANT MAN ALSO .. JUST REMOVE THIS TYPE OF MENTALITY AND GIVE WINGS TO THE BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER … 

She can fly high with her wings , when she sets free …
