Rajinikanth is an Indian actor, producer, and screenwriter who mostly works in the Tamil film industry. He has received numerous accolades, including four Tamil Nadu State Film Best Actor Awards. He has been awarded THE PADMA BHUSHAN AND PADMA VIBUSHAN by the INDIAN GOVERNMENT.

RAJINIKANTH BIOGRAPHY :
Rajinikanth was born in Karnataka, India, as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad to a Marathi family. His forefathers hail from the village of Nachikuppam in Tamilnadu's Krishnagiri region. His parents, Jijabai and Ramojirao Gaekwad, a police constable, had four children. He lost his mother when he was 8 years old.

Rajinikanth is an Indian actor who has acted in over 160, the most of them have been Tamil films. He began his cinematic career as an adversary and a supporting character before moving on to starring roles. After acting in a number of commercially successful films in the 1980s and 1990s, he has matinee idol position in Tamil Nadu's popular culture. Grady Hendrix, writing for slate, termed him “the biggest movie star you've probably never heard of". Rajinikanth has also worked in the Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali cinema industries.
Rajinikanth, who loved movies since he was a child, travelled to Chennai in the early1970s to study acting at Madras film institute in 1975, he made his acting debut in Katha sangama, a film directed by Kanada director Puttanna kanagal. In the same year, he made a major breakthrough when he was cast as a villian in K. Balachander's Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal. Rajinikanth continued to play ethically problematic roles within the ethical frameworks of traditional Tamil cinema for next three years. Rajinikanth's first leading role was in film Bhairavi (1978). Rajinikanth as an action superstar in films like Billa (1980), and Murattukaalai (1980). Rajinikanth made his Hindi film debut in 1983 with a role in Andhaa Kanoon, a film in which he starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
