Don't Worry, Be Happy: A Guide To Happiness[part 2]

All Of It Is In Your Head.

Happiness is a state of mind that is not significantly correlated with wealth or popularity. Anyone can achieve happiness if they have the desire, the will, and the knowledge of and application of the proper formula. That is the piece of wisdom from Norman Vincent Peale, known as the "father of positive thinking."

Such a statement has a simplicity that prevents most people from understanding its importance and accuracy. When the solutions to many of our issues are there in front of us, we still desire a sophisticated formula. Simply deciding to be happy is the solution to the conundrum of how to be happy. That's as straightforward as I can make it.

Never forget that there will always be things that go wrong, disturb you, or attempt to frustrate you. But the key is to make the decision that you won't allow anything get you down, no matter what goes wrong or how difficult things become. One thing is always within your power to change. Those are you. You control your response to any circumstance.

According to Norman Peale, the majority of people up to maybe four out of five create their own sadness. They accomplish this by harbouring negative ideas and adopting unsuitable outlooks on life. Some of the components of the process that results in dissatisfaction are characterised as being resentment, ill will, hate, fear, and concern.

Success and Money Won't Make it Happen.

If someone develops habits that lead to sadness, no amount of material achievement or fortune can make them happier. The end consequence is invariably frustration and disappointment as the awareness dawns on such a person that pleasure cannot be attained in this manner after years of chasing it through worldly wealth. Some who have chased this phantom have paid a high price with strained family ties. They've always had the capacity to experience joy. They simply were unaware of it.

It's crucial to have a dream and to work tirelessly to realise it, but you also need to understand why you have that dream in the first place. The pursuit of that ideal shouldn't be motivated by the desire to be happy. You are the key to your happiness, not it.

Create a Habit of Joy.

Simply substituting pleasant habits for unhappiness-producing ones is all it takes to be happy. The first step is always to alter your way of thinking and attitude. The negative thoughts that cause discouragement, fear, melancholy, worry, and hatred must be banished and replaced with constructive ones. For instance, resolve that you will like your work today rather than dreading going to work every day, and see yourself doing so as the day begins. When you aim for the best, you frequently achieve it.

Every step of the way to realising your dreams, you should learn to appreciate what you have and where you are. Keep in mind that your life doesn't begin when you accomplish your goals; it begins right now. You have nothing but the present.

The Conclusion.

"We tend to forget that happiness comes not from having something we don't have, but rather from recognising and appreciating what we do have," remarked Frederick Keonig.

All you are is who you are. Continue being it.

The End.
