It was a dark and stormy night. The kind of night where you wouldn't want to be caught out in. But alas, here I was. Caught in the storm with no where to go. I was walking home from work, like I always do, when I heard a strange noise. It sounded like someone was crying. I tried to ignore it, but it kept getting louder and louder. until it was right behind me. I turned around and there was nothing there. But I could still hear the crying. I started to walk faster, but no matter how fast I went, the crying stayed right behind me.

I was getting really scared now. I started to run, but it was like the crying was mocking me. It got louder and louder, until it was right in my ear. I couldn't take it anymore. I screamed and ran into the nearest building, which just so happened to be a graveyard. I know, I know. I should have just kept running. But I was so scared, I didn't know what else to do.

I ran through the graveyard, not caring where I was going. I just wanted to get away from the noise. I eventually came to a stop in front of a large mausoleum. I leaned against the door, trying to catch my breath. I was so scared, I didn't know what to do. I tried to open the door, but it was locked. I banged on it, screaming for someone to let me in. But no one came. I slid down the door, until I was sitting on the ground. I put my head in my hands and started to cry.

I don't know how long I sat there, but eventually I fell asleep. I was awoken by the sound of the door opening. I looked up and saw a figure standing in the doorway. I was so scared, I couldn't move. The figure came closer and I saw that it was a woman. She was wearing a white dress and had her hair pulled back in a tight bun. She looked like she was from another time. The woman came and sat down next to me.

"Hello," she said. “My name is Mary. I'm sorry if I scared you. I didn't mean to. I just wanted someone to talk to.”

I was so surprised that I could actually talk. "That's okay," I said. "I'm just glad to have someone to talk to. I was so scared."

We talked for hours. Mary told me about her life and how she died. She told me about her husband and how much she missed him. I told her about my life and how I was scared of ghosts. She laughed and told me that I didn't have to be scared of her. We talked until the sun came up.

Eventually, I had to go. I didn't want to, but I knew I had to. I promised Mary that I would come back and visit her. And I did. I visit her every week. And I'm not scared of ghosts anymore.
