Sunderland was full of thick trees, green bushes and a pond. Chintu Tortoise🐢  lived in the pond. He was very playful. He would come of the water and sit on the rocks. As his skin color was similar to the rocks, he was not visible on it. 

     When some bird or a rat or rabbit came to drink water, he would scare them with his peculiar sound. 

     While playing one day, he made friends with Muniya. Muniya was a small bird 🐦  and lived on the tree nearby. 

    Chintz Tortoise🐢 would make Muniya🐦 sit on his back and give her a ride.

    One day, a herd of deer 🦌 came to drink water at the pond. There was a fawn (baby deer 🦌) named Gollu in the group.

    When Gollu 🦌 saw Chintu🐢 and Muniya 🐦 playing, he became very happy. He said, “I want to be your friend.”

    “What is your name?” Muniya 🐦 asked.

    “My name is Gollu. What is your name?” the class asked.

    Chintu 🐢 answered, "Myself Chintu and she is Muniya. From today we ate best friends. 

    All the 3 would come near the tree everyday and play and by evening return to their homes. 

     One night, Chintu🐢 heard a faint sound. He felt that somebody was calling him.

    He came out, “What happened, Gollu🦌?” Chintu 🐢 saw that Gollu🦌 was tied up and was crying.

    “Look Chintu 🐢 brother, when I was going home I got trapped in this trap. I have been able to reach here with great difficulty,” and Gollu🦌 started crying.

    The Tortoise called Muniya🐦 who came immediately. Both helped her getting out. The Tortoise was finding it difficult to cut the hard wires of the trap.

    In spite of cutting the net all night, one leg of Gollu🦌 was still trapped.

    Suddenly, Muniya🐦 saw from the top of the tree that a man was coming towards them.

    He was searching something. He had a bow on his shoulder.

    “Hurry up Chintu🦌, the hunter is coming this side,” Muniya🐦 called out.

    The hunter has seen the deer and came fast. Chintu🐢 by then cut the last wire and shouted, “Run, Gollu run.”

   Gollu🦌 took 2 leaps and hid in the bushes.

   By the time the hunter came, Gollu🦌 fled and Chintu🐢 became one with the rocks. Seeing this, Muniya🐦 had a hearty laughing.

    The hunter got wild. He aimed the bird. Chintu🐢 saw that and crawled fast and came near the hunter and bit his leg. The hunter screamed of pain. Muniya🐦 saved but the hunter picked up the Tortoise and put him in his pocket.

    Muniya🐦 went behind the hunter. After sometime hunter sat down a tree and opened his lunch pouch to eat.

    Sensing opportunity, the Tortoise came out of the pocket.

    “OH, where have I came? Where is my house?” He was upset.

    Suddenly, he heard Muniya's🐦 voice, “Look here Chintu🐢 .” Then he walked off with her. Soon, both reached the place.

    Gollu🦌 was already waiting for them.

He jumped with happinesss seeing Chintu🐢 and Muniya🐦.

    All the 3 friends saved one another. They were the best of friends.
