Public Speaking Skills For Beginners.

Hello everyone!! I am back with another post today and it is about public speaking. Public speaking is the greatest fear that most of  us face and if we possess a shy personality then it can be an icing on the cake and make you more nervous🤣. But, to help you remove this fear of speaking in public and feel more confident about yourself I am here to guide you and explain you the process by which you can give an excellent presentation or a speech. But, remember as we say doing is more important than knowing so that means you must practice these skills beforehand to deliver a great presentation because nothing works on the last day.

So, without wasting any time.

Let's begin

1.Define the objectives.

Defining some objectives like why are you giving this presentation? Who your audience is? How familiar are they with the topic? When do you have to give it? What is the length of it? will help you prepare better. After writing down the answers to these questions you can start preparing your speech and practice it. When you know what your objectives are it becomes easy to explain it to others and you can convey your ideas more effectively.

2.Master your body language

Our body does the non-verbal communication to the audience all the time. So, we need to be careful and mind the way we stand, talk or use our hands. Don't cross your legs or slouch. Stand straight, place your legs at hip width apart. Use arm gestures but not too much. Don't fidget with any object like a pen or a notebook. Don't look at only one person, look at everyone. You don't have to stand still you can walk from one end of stage to another. Remember to make everyone feel included and smile not only with your mouth but your eyes too.

3.Eliminating verbal ticks and problems.

Don't use sounds like err, ahh or ehm instead replace them with a long pause. But avoid awkward pauses. If you think you are using a word very often, then prepare synonyms for it. But, at the end of the day, practicing is very important.

4.Managing the stress

Stress is natural and it will be there but you will have to manage it. Be hydrated and if possible you can carry a small water bottle with you, stretch or warm up your body before the speech.
