Black fungus is a rare but dangerous fungal infection it is also known as Mucormycosis in the scientific terms. After COVID infection black fungus affects your nose, sinuses, lungs , skin brain and destroys it but not all COVID patients get infected by this disease.People catch mucormycosis by coming in contact with the fungal spores in the environment. After COVID Black fungus is spreading its legs in our country.

Person who can get infected -

+ It infects covid patients only

  1. COVID patients who had to be     kept on ICU or in oxygen .

  2. Uncontrollable diabetic                  patients.

  3. Person who has ongoing             treatment of cancer or kidney         transplant.

  Symptoms of infection- 

1. Pain on one side of the face swelling or numbness.
2. Pain in teeth, shaking of teeth or pain on chewing the food.
3. Coming of blood in mucus during vomiting or coughing.
4. Dark spots around the nose.
5. Immunity going down.
6. Redness, swelling and numbness near the eyes.

Major cause behind the black fungal infection : Misuse of steroids ( Steroids are medications which are used for reducing inflammation ).

What to do if you are infected?

If you have any of above mentioned symptoms of black fungus , go to the government hospital or any private hospital and get your checkup done by the specialist doctors . And don't waste your time because it spreads in your body fastly .

Preventive measures-

1. Don't use any medicine (steroids ) suggested by any of your close relatives or friends.
2. Get yourself tested by the specialist doctors because it affects various parts of the body , it's treatment involves surgically removing all dead and infected tissues.
3. Be aware about your medicines doctors are giving you .
4. Use clean, sterile water for humidifiers during the oxygen therapy.
5. Maintain personal hygiene.
6. Don't touch soil , compost , moss with your hand directly, use gloves .
7. Judicious use of steroids ( Steroids are medications which are used for reducing inflammation ).
