The first type of civilization is a planetary civilization. It gets its required energy from the planets it is in. They can produce millions of times more energy than our own.
The first type of civilization can even change the climate on their planet, they are advanced enough to use so much energy. Think about it, a tornado is forming. Immediately put a switch like 'does' and you can get rid of that monster! Likewise, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions can also be controlled. Why so much? It has the power to build cities across land and seas.
If civilization of the first kind has so much power, where are we? Don't worry, we are still a type 0 civilization. Not even the first one yet. Let's see why.
We still have fossil fuels like petrol and diesel as our primary source of energy. This power is not enough. We are already beginning to feel this lack of power today. Moreover, this mineral oil resource is non-renewable. And also very dangerous for the environment. However, different forces have started to emerge today. The amount of power obtained from efficient solar panels, hydrogen cells, etc. is increasing.
Not only that, we see some of the characteristics of the first type of civilization in our society today. For example, the language of the entire planet – English has evolved. Also there is internet to communicate all over the world. Confederations formed across national borders – the European Union is an example. Not only this, the culture system of the entire planet – through TV, movies, new and new cultural aspects reach people across countries. All this is evidence that we are progressing towards the first type of civilization.
The most important thing here is us.
Once every few thousand years, meteors or comets can strike the planets, so a civilization must have invented space travel before that, so that the first civilization can successfully block or deflect the meteor or comet.
Likewise, the ice age is a very, very dangerous one. An ice age may occur every few thousand years, and before it does, the first type of civilization can find a way to change the climate and adapt to it and survive the ice age.
Not only such natural disasters, but also the dangers that particular civilizations have created for themselves must be prevented. For example, population would be a challenge for a zero-type civilization, a type one civilization that would know very well how to keep its population in check, as well as how to equally share the natural resources on a given planet.
Another issue is war. This will be a huge challenge. When a civilization moves from zero to first, it is this war that becomes the greatest challenge. However, a civilization belonging to the first type must successfully overcome the conflicts arising out of language, religion, colour, culture and economic differences.
After eliminating such differences, civilizations of this type would continue to flourish for thousands of years. At some point, they will exhaust all the power they get from that planet. Then they begin to harness the entire power of their parent star as their own. Now their power requirement is 1026 joules per second. These are second class civilizations.
