In general, no one likes to be forced.Even for the fun part of life, forcing won't work.
By pushing or forcing something on people,you tend to push people further away
THINK ABOUT FORCING SOMEONE IN EDUCATION, MARRIAGE, CAREER ? FORCING LEADS NOWHERE
Then why is forcing a child to eat is normalized ? Most of us have gone through force feeding as a child or have seen it happened.why do you think some adults force children to eat.
The famous aeroplane technique, bribing, threatening, coaxing,begging.
Using anything other than appetite to make child eat was ending in eating issues in an adult. Why many adults are emotional eaters ?!!
In my childhood if i want to eat food because i'm full or i want to eat certain food not the one that adult offers me then adults won't talk to me until and unless i eat the food they offered.This is a simple example of how children won't show interest in eating food.
About adults
Adults assume they know more about the child's stomach and appetite than the child themselves.
Adults associate food with love. Food for hunger. Forcing a child to eat is not a way to love your child. In olden days, force feeding to the prisons is a common punishment.
Adults have unrealistic expectations about the quantity a child can take at a certain age and it was led to force feeding.
OPTIONAL
If sensory processing issues, chewing issues and other underlying problems affect the child's ability to eat and they go unnoticed or under diagnosed.Then adults can force feed.Once consult pediatrician before starting solids to the children.
RESULT
And when baby grows up !! they will get confused like should i eat when i'm
happy !
angry !
upset !
And mainly they don't know when they are full..!!
There are many more reasons, but in long term a child that's force fed can end up with a very negative relationship with food and can lead to eating disorders,issues in regulating intake, inability to understand, inability to chew, to control appetite, to understand hunger cues, emotional eating, food aversions, inability to try new food and even can create hatred towards food.

Stay calm
Introduce new food often
one bite at once
Try when they are still hungry
Try to eat along with them
Don't allow them to substitute food
Try new foods by yourself in front of them
let them pick it out
Let them pick the food by themselves
Be patient
Forcing doesn't only mean shoving down the throat, making the child eat.But to many things in their life.DON'T LET THEM DOWN IN ANY MANNER.
Let's respect a child's hunger cues, let them eat till they wants to focus on long term goals rather than the extra 2 spoons you want to feed everyday.
