1.What is Contraception ? 

The process or method to prevent unwanted pregnancy is known as contraception.Method can be of any type surgical or chemical.

2.What is Contraceptive ?

Any kind of chemical,drug or device which is useful to avoid unwanted pregnancy  is called contraceptive.For example:- Condom is contraceptive because it is helpful in contraception.

Let us understand one by one various methods of contraception:-

1.Method of barrier 

In this method couple use various types of physical objects to prevent pregnancy.

For example:- During intercourse male wear condom on his penis to avoid meeting of sperm from ovum.Similarly,female condom is also available in the market which is used by females.They put it into the vagina to avoid the meeting of ovum from sperm.The logic behind it same.Sperm and Ovum must be separated from each other.

One of the best advantage of this method is it protect us from various types of sexual diseases like AIDS and Syphilis.This is the only method which prevent us from sexually transmitted diseases.

This is also the most popular contraception method.

2.Method of Chemical 

For this method there are two types of pills available in market.Oral pills and another one is vaginal pills.Oral pills must be taken from mouth of female.Oral pills contain special types of hormones which prevent pregnancy.

Vaginal pill must be taken from a vagina by a woman because it contain chemical which is helpful in killing sperm during entrance.I will not recommend you this method to avoid pregnancy because it is not safe for woman.That is my opinion you can use if you want.

3.Method of IUCD

In this method a device which is made of copper is placed in the uterus by a well trained doctor to prevent fertilization of egg if the sperm enters.It is very effective in avoiding pregnancy but can't protect us from transmitted diseases.

4.Method of Surgery

This method is available for both.In males, cutting of sperm ducts and then ligation.This process is called "Vesectomy".This ligation prevent sperm from coming out.

In females,part of oviduct is separated by doctor and then ligation of remaining parts occur.This process is called "Tubectomy".

Friends last two methods need doctor help but the easiest and the safest method is barrier method.

Note :- Only barrier method can protect us from sexually transmitted diseases.
