The big area which is covered from plants, trees and other vegetations is called forest. And the wildlife of animals like tiger, lion, elephant, snakes deers etc are also exist in them.
In scientific terms we call plants life as flora and animals life as fauna. There are large number of species available in the forest from both categories flora and fauna. We call these areas as biodiversity hotspot.
It is our responsibility to take care of these hotspots which we inherited from our ancestors.Unfortunately, the forest covered land is decreasing day by day because of our daily requirement of wood and paper mainly. We should do something to stop deforestation because if it keeps going like that then we will face shortage of wood and also sudden changes in environment.
Many people have come forward to tackle this problem and to save forest from deforestation. They are running a programme called silviculture. This programme started to replenish the forest areas by growing more plants and trees. The silviculture programme has many advantages.
Some advantages are given below:-
1.It will increase the supply of raw materials to various industries for their purposes.Due to this rate of deforestation load on forest will decrease as a side effect of it.Among them paper industries are mainly involved because they need huge amount of raw material for their product. That is why friends always consider to use recycled paper products rather than new one.Your little changes in life like this will also affect deforestation.
2.It will increase the covered earth surface beneath the forest which results in good wildlife protection and conservation. Our government is also running many programmes to protect many wild wild animals species. For example:- to save tigers and to maintain their population in the forest government is running a programme called "save the tiger".This programme helped tigers to grow their population because we are seeing the increasing number of tigers in the forest.Their population reduces because of excessive hunting and deforestation.
3.It helps to maintain the stable water cycle because forest cover areas attracts raining and more raining means more ground water and greenery with fresh vegetation.
4.It protects earth from soil erosion.Afforestation holds soil and protect it from soil erosion because this kind of erosion is not good for our crops to cultivate them.
