Book Name: An Empress of Air And Chaos
Author: Noelle Rayne
Rating: 5/5
An Empress of Air and Chaos is the first book of the debut fantasy series of Noelle Rayne. From witch covens to demons to shifters, this novel has everything to make it a perfect fantasy series. With a strong female protagonist and a perfect mix of triangle love and humour, this novel without a doubt stands out from all the other novels of the same genre. The author has created a magical world and has narrated it with refreshing authenticity.
Emara Clearwater, a girl who lived with her grandmother and best friend in a village, suddenly loses everything she had to a demon attack and almost loses her life but was saved by the Blacksteel brothers, hunters who slay down the demons. Within a blink of an eye, Emara finds herself in a world which is completely unknown to her. With the impending grief due to the loss of her grandmother, Emara takes refuge in training to fight off demons and also to keep herself sane. One day on a trip to the markets with her best friend Callyn and the Blacksteel brothers, Emara finds out about her real self and that changes the entire course of the story. The triangle of love between Torin, Gideon and Emara makes the story more complex as well as intriguing.
The author has treated each character with delicate care and built their characters perfectly to blend into the magical world and also imprint into the minds of the readers. The story has twists and turns which make us stand on the edge. It was without a doubt a page-turner.
Emara Clearwater, this name has etched into my heart and soul. After Bella Swan, Emara has clearly become my favourite character. Her attitude, beliefs and stubbornness have drawn me close to her. Torin Blacksteel is one of the most powerful and yet benign male characters I have read so far and I really hope Emara would choose Torin over Gideon.
After having my fair share of reading thrillers this year, I wanted to read a book in the fantasy genre. That was when I came across a reel on Instagram about this book. Luckily this was available on kindle unlimited for free and started to read thinking to stop if it was boring. As it turned out, I completed the whole book in three days and I feel like I am still in the book. This was the best fantasy book I have ever read and I am looking forward to the next book An Empress of Steel and Fire.
