Hello Everyone,

Today In this, I have to share the most favorite, yummiest and healthiest Finger Millet Pudding i.e. Ragi Kali Recipe. We can prepare this kali in two ways using Ragi.

Let’s know a few things about ragi. Ragi is one of the millet family. It has more benefits to our health. It contains more protein, fiber, and more nutrients. It boosts our body health. We can include this finger millet in our regular diet like ragi dosa, kali, adai, sweet dumplings, spicy dumplings, roti etc. Now we can see the Pudding recipes.

Ragi Pudding

First we take 1 cup of ragi flour and some water with required salt. Mix the flour with water and salt in a bowl without lumps like paste and keep aside.

Then take a wide pan and add about 3 to 4 cups of water. Bring the water to boil. Then add the mix of finger millet flour into the boiling water.

Keep stirring until the flour is completely cooked. We can add the one cup of cooked rice in this recipe as an optional. If you want to add cooked rice then you should add the flour before mixing into the boiling water.

Now we should wait until the pudding completely cools down. Then we can make this ragi kali into a ball shape.

Now the finger millet kali is ready to serve. It goes with spicy chutney, spicy curries both veg and non-veg, especially dry fish curry and curd with pickle.

Ragi Sweet Kali:

For this we take a cup of finger millet flour, a pinch of salt. Then mix these ingredients in a bowl with required water.

Then we take palm jaggery (karuppatti) with the same amount of ragi flour we took. Then in a saucepan pour 1 cup of water and powdered jaggery. Let’s wait until the jaggery completely dissolves in the water. Then filter the jaggery water.

Then take a wide pan, pour the jaggery water and addtionaly add a cup of water. When that jaggery water is boiled we can add the mixture of ragi flour. Then stir continuously. When it becomes thick, add little ghee or gingelly oil into it. Keep stirring and add ghee little by little. It will take about 8 to 10 minutes to cook the delicious Finger millet sweet pudding.

Now the sweet and tastiest ragi kali is ready to eat. All are loved to eat these yummiest and healthiest recipes including kids.
