Hello guys! This is me with my new blog. But it is not an entertaining or informative blog. But it is an awareness blog, which disturbs me a lot.
As you read in the title, all kinds of taxis, especially bike taxis, are in danger right now. Before getting into the problem, let us see what a bike taxi is.
A taxi, car bike, or bike taxi is a licenced form of transport in some countries. The taxi typically carries one passenger, who rides pillion behind the motorcycle operator. Multiple passengers are common in some countries.
Motorcycle taxes in India are a form of taxicab. They have existed since 1981, when the Government of Goa started issuing permits to operate them. But in recent times, they are getting on their way.
It is because other kinds of taxis cost a lot, and if it is a single passenger, riding on the bike would be efficient and easy to do. We can also bike and travel fast, so we can get to the place without getting stuck in traffic.
But here comes the problem: other kinds of taxis, especially auto rickshaws, find a downfall in their business. Even they held a protest in Bangalore against bike taxis. The government is playing a neutral role here, stating that they are waiting for the high officials to frame rules for bike taxes.
It also leads to road rage, where auto rickshaw drivers usurp the bike keys of the riders and scold them with bad words. I also hear from the bike drivers that they are scared of auto rickshaw drivers. So they prevent going to public places like railway stations, bus stands, movie theatres, etc.
But car drivers are not in danger because people prefer long drives in cars and buses, and their work will not be in danger for some years. But it is the only problem for auto rickshaw drivers, as it rules out their business. But somehow, two or three passengers used to take an automobile. But still, autorickshaw drivers feel that they are in danger of quitting their job.
But I feel that there is justice on both sides. They all work for a living. The government should set good and proper rules and regulations that must be followed so both sides are satisfied and don't interrupt each other in business. Even though I am a Rapido user, I also stop supporting autorickshaw drivers to make a living. But I also keep a humble request to auto rickshaw drivers: please be patient and kind to bike taxi passengers because they too need money for their living.
