Is Online Education Legit?

We never thought that we would be sitting at our home and completing our academic year for straight two years. But I suppose that is how it was meant to be. Now it's almost two years since we haven't seen our schools universities and offices. And we don't mind spending another year just crouching in our houses, do we?  Well as in my case attending all the meetings and lectures from home in my personal space not caring about dressing up and looking presentable I used to seem very comfortable and happy until a day I gave a thought to this aspect.

By far we all are familiar with online education. It has become a vital part of our educational field and we've all experienced the fors and againsts of this system. Like each coin has two sides, virtual learning has its pros and cons. With pros being creative learning with visual aids for better understanding and accessibility of time and place let's have a check at cons as there are better cons to be looked upon.

Just this last month I cleared my second year of graduation by sitting at home on a random Thursday afternoon. I was extremely glad that I got done with another year successfully. Like everyone else my entire second year too got on with online lectures. Guilty enough to confess that although I passed the semester I do not remember even a single thing taught in the classes. Not to say I didn't try to render attention or didn't want to study, it was every time I tried to concentrate I'd get easily distracted by anything and everything. It's easier to get diverted when you are in your personal space. I am sure many of you can relate.

In my opinion, there are no pros of online education. My judgment may differ from the point of belief you all look at. These are my viewpoints about the online technique of education.

Student feedback is limited- In online classes, student interaction is the least so it creates difficulties in student-teacher relation. Not knowing what is being taught in the lectures students fail to convey this validity to teachers and this leads to a lack of feedback to rely on.

Lack of social development- Online education causes social isolation in students. Especially school-going children whose age is to evolve grow and learn with every alternative coming their way. Online learning takes away the opportunity to build social skills and is not very effective in peer-group learning.

Loss of Sincerity- As examinations have been conducted online students procrastinate to study knowing the fact that they can easily cheat during exams. Avoiding study and lectures have become the new normal for students. Even the average and below-average students are obtaining full grades by cheating during exams. The threat of exams we all used to have is lost.

Prospect of the students- Online education has led the future of students at stake. Clearing the grade without studying has become a firm belief among everyone. Therefore if the base isn't concrete how can a foundation be laid?

Also, Schools and Universities are collecting a heap of money from students in exchange for 3-4 hours of online lectures each day. Knowing the aspect of salaries and maintenance expenditures I am notifying this just because not every parent can afford to pay the fortune of money universities are asking for especially when in a pandemic an enormous number of people have lost their jobs. Additionally, teenagers and youths getting addicted to electronic devices all day under the name of online lectures is something we all know.

Keeping in mind the fact that online education is the need of time. Noticing the circumstances around we are left with no alternative but online education. These are just the thoughts wavering in my mind about the way we are pursuing our class. And the miserable thing is that maximum students have now started liking online lectures and the reason not being the interest, liking and creative teaching aid but the comfort that is making them lenient by the day. I wish to be able to attend my college soon. So think of it 'Is Online Education legit?' What pros and cons can you think of?
