Feminism is an unfathomable concept commonly misunderstood nowadays.

So this is just a small attempt to give voice to my thoughts on this concept.

Here it goes…

By equality I mean I want an equal share in everything,

My capabilities to be honoured equally like the men's,

I don't want anyone to open doors for me, the one walking ahead out of the two would do that if they pleased,

Never did I suppose, a man should pick up my shopping bags, we could share the load like all the other things,

Not even the men to offer me their seat, for sometimes some men might need it more than women did,

And of course! splitting the bill won't make you any less of a gentleman,

I just want the world to believe,

I could do the same wonders like him,

And at times even better than him, if I worked hard of course,

I just want to make my place,

which seems so difficult,

for people see us as fragile beings,

walking behind strong men for them to protect,

I don't want the men to clean the house always,

I don't expect you to cook daily likewise,

I just don't want you to think it was my job to cook or clean and your help just an added blessing,

They call me delicate, they call me emotional, fragile

but I know you are delicate and emotional too and trust me there's nothing wrong with that.. not something one should hide.

To the men out there , feel free to cry when you are hurt for having emotions just makes you human.

They have labelled women to be brainy and men to be strong,

But I have seen brainy men and strong women too, so why stereotype?

I dream of a world where men and women would be equally safe,

And I know things are changing for sure, but still, I wish there would come a day my papa won't be worried for me when I am late to return from work like he won't be for my brother!

A day when all the respect and success a person shall receive will be on the basis of their character and persona irrespective of their gender.

And a day when,"You are acting like a girl",cannot be used to make any boy feel weak!
