During my teenage I was a girl who believed in fairytales, happy endings and the notion that true love always wins. But as I grew up, I realised that the idea of love triumphing all was a broader concept, a concept far more unfathomable unlike the normal idea of love being stuck to holding hands forever till death do us part. This change was imposed upon me by the amazing love story of two cancer patients, our brave and one of her own kind , 'Hazel' and her handsome and loving boyfriend ,' Augustus'. Yes this is about the famous book ,'The Fault in our stars' by the John Green. Their love was all the warmth they needed on their coldest days.
Here is a small letter Augustus wrote for Hazel with the help of Hazel's favourite 'grumpy' yet 'talented' author,' Van Houten'. He said, "Unlike every mortal who wants to leave their imprint in this world, Hazel isn't scared of oblivion. She is different. She walks lightly upon the earth. Hazel knows the truth: We're as likely to hurt the universe as we are to help it, and we are not likely to do either. People will say it's sad that she leaves a lesser scar, that fewer remember her, that she was loved deeply but not widely. But it's not sad, it's triumphant. It's heroic.".... The day she collapsed and was admitted in ICU was the same same day his PET scan lit up too....He snucked into the ICU and saw her while she was asleep. He walked in behind the nurse and got to sit next to her for like ten minutes before he got caught. The thought of her dying before even letting her know that he was going to die too, scared him. He just held her hand and tried to imagine a world without them...He wanted more time so they could fall in love. He adds further that She was so beautiful that he never got tired of looking at her....It didn't bother him when she acted smarter than him for he knew that she was. She had a good sense of humour but she was never mean. Above all he loved her and found himself lucky for falling for her. He concluded by saying," You don't get to choose the ones you hurt in this world, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes hers. " His love was so profound that he didn't even care about heartbreak saying that it would be a privilege to have his heart broken by Hazel.
