Hello everyone,

I am back with another anime review. To be honest being someone who use to think anime is similar to other cartoons on television like shinchan or doremon, it was a real turn around in my perspective when I actually watched one. Your name was the first anime movie. A beautiful story and deep concept is the definition of this movie. I remember crying in my room while watching it. I recommend this movie from bottom of my heart.

.IMDB rating- 8.4

.where to watch - Netflix

.Plot -

Your name is an animated Japanese romantic fantasy movie released in 2016, produced by comix wave films.

Mitsuha Miyamizu (female lead) is a high school girl from a small town itomori. She is tired from her current life and wishes to be a Tokyo boy in next life. She suddenly starts to switch bodies with Taki Tachibana (male lead) who is a highschool boy in Tokyo. They thought that these are just vivid dreams but soon they realised that this is reality. They started communicating through notes, phones and sometimes by writing on each other's body. They begin living each others life . Mitsuha (in taki's) body sets him up for a date with a co-worker Miki Okudera . Whereas taki (in mitsuha's body) makes mitsuha popular in school.

One day taki joins mitsuha's grandmother and sister to leave the ritual achohol made by the sisters at Shinto shrine .

Shinto shrine

Taki reads note by mitsuha about the comet tismar, expected to pass the nearest of the earth on the day of autumn festival. Taki wakes up in his body and went on a date with miki. At the end of the date she says that she enjoyed the date, but she can tell that he was preoccupied by some thoughts. Taki tries calling mitsuha but couldn't and finds out that the body switching has ended.

One day taki, miki and their friend tsukasa traveled to hida to find mitsuha. Though taki doesn't know the name of the town he drew a picture and map from the memory he had of the town. A owner of a resturant recognises the sketch. He takes and taki to itomori which was totally ruined, more than 500 families were killed when tiamat unexpectedly fragmented three years back.

After gazing at the site in disbelief taki realised that all the text from which mitsuha in his phone has disappeared and and memories of her are fading away. Taki find mitsuha's name in record of fatalities and wonders if the body switching was just a dream. Miki and tsukasa went back to Tokyo but taki went to the shrine hoping to reconnect with mitsuha and warn her about the comet. After drinking mitsuha's kuchikamizake he lapes into a vision where he sees mitsuha's past and also recalls that they already had an encounter on a train three years ago when she came to Tokyo in her own time zone to find him though he was not able to recognise her as the body switching didn't started at that time for him. Before leaving the train in embarrassment mitsuha handed him her hair ribbon which he has since worn on his wrist as a good luck charm.

Taki wakes up in mitsuha's body once again at the day of the festival. Mitsuha's grandmother told her that the body switching has been passed on in their family as a caretaker of shrine. Taki joins hands with mitsuha's friends to evacuate itomori. Taki went to the shrine to see that if mitsuha is in his body. At the sunset both were able to sense each other but couldn't see each other because of different time frames. During magic hour they return to their own body and saw each other in person. When taki returns mitsuha's ribbon they try to write each others name so that they can remember it. Before mitsuha can write her's the magic hour ended. When the evacuation plan fails mitsuha tries convincing her father mayor of itomori to evacuate everyone before doing this mitsuha notices her memory of taki are fading away and discovers he wrote I love u on her hand instead of his name the comet fragments and crash to earth .it destroys itomori. taki wakes up on his own time frame remembering nothing.

After 5 years taki graduate from University and search for job he feels that he lost something important which left a hole in his heart. Eight years has passed after the comet exploded. the town of itomori has been destroyed but the people survived as they evacuated on time. After the incident mitsuha moved to Tokyo . One day taki and mitsuha had a glimpse of each other when their train passes beside each other. The instantly felt connected and try to seek one another. they finally meet on the stairs of suga shrine . taki calls out mitsuah saying that he feels that he knows her ,she responds likewise after searching for each other for a long time they shed tears of happiness and ask each other for their name.

. reviews-

Personally I like this movie so much. The connection between the leads, the dramatic situations, story line and the tension, everything in right amount. The animation and graphics were immaculate. Must watch movie if you are an anime fan.
