Disappointment is a part of life that comes up when hopes or expectations aren’t fulfilled . We've all experienced disappointment at times in our relationships, in other people, and in ourselves. It might be tempting to handle disappointment by avoiding it altogether.  Sometimes, When disappointment strikes, we may convince ourselves that it isn't all that bad or that it doesn't matter. And yet, every time we are let down, we continue to experience that devastating feeling. In fact, it's easier to turn to anger than accepting the reality of what disappointment brings.
Disappointment is an emotion. It causes feelings of hopelessness. It may also involve feeling powerless and wanting to do. Disappointment hurts mentally. Some of  us feel tired, heavy, and numb, while others feel like the world is going too fast around them.
Over time and with practice, disappointment won't be such a big problem in your life. So for the people who force a smile while trying to overcome disappointment, here are some techniques you can follow:

Allow Yourself to Feel Disappointed
Acknowledge that you’re experiencing disappointment. It’s tempting to ignore, minimize, or distract yourself from unpleasant feelings. But this can actually make these feelings more of a problem over time. Instead, accepting that they are present, and remembering that it’s ok to have those feelings.

Bring It Out
Sometimes, the burden of disappointment is too much to hold in. Therefore, talking to someone, or even writing it down on paper, will minimize the feelings of pain and/or hopelessness after experiencing disappointment. People who wrote down their deepest thoughts and feelings about their experience recovered much quicker and had better physical and mental health.

Don't reside on What Might Have Been
You've probably thought about how wonderful it would be if your wish comes true. The truth is, the more you dwell on your disappointment, the harder it is to let go.  it disrupt your ability to focus, but it'll also prevent you from moving forward.

Take care of Yourself
Be kind to yourself. Don't judge yourself too harshly for not being perfect. Most importantly, don't compare yourself to others. It will only hurt your confidence and damage your self-worth. Your path is yours, and theirs is their own.
There will always be days when you are unable to do everything you want to or achieve everything you hope to achieve. This is the way life is. Mistakes happen, and you're allowed to make them. You did what you could. Forgive yourself for the mistakes you've made and learn from them instead of feeling guilt.

Look for the Silver Lining
Try to find any tiny positive that comes out of a sad or unpleasant situation. But You can’t Always find a sign of hope or a positive aspect in negative situation. Once Dwight schrute said “Not everything is a lesson, sometimes you just fail”. you may feel unhappy right now, try to look at the situation as a part of growing up.
To get over the disappointment, surround yourself with people who make you smile. Watch funny shows and movies, read funny books. These things will keep your mind off of the disappointment you're feeling, and make it easier to handle.
