Govinda Naam Mera is Vicky Kaushal's new Hindi film after the critically acclaimed 'Sardar Uddha'. Bhumi Padnekar and Kiara Advani are in the lead roles along with Vicky in the film which was released directly on Disney Plus Hotstar. The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan. Shashank Khaitan is the director of the hit films Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Dhadak. The story of the film moves along with comedy and a mysterious murder. The trailer has been well-received, assuring that the film is a complete entertainer in the comedy-thriller genres. So even though it is not a theatrical release, Bollywood is looking forward to the film.

Protagonist Govinda (Vicky) lives a complicated life in the city of Mumbai with many problems. One of his problems is that he wants to become a dance choreographer but is unable to progress in his career. Govinda owns a bungalow in the city worth around 150 crores, but Govinda has no chance to experience it as the case with his half-brother has been going on for 15 years. Although he is married, he has no romantic relationship with his wife Gauri (Bhumi). But Govinda has a girlfriend- Suku (Kiara). To live peacefully with Suku, he needs to divorce Gauri too. But the divorce is not easy as the dowry and compensation collected from Gauri's family cannot be returned.

So Govinda has no choice but to endure his wife's scolding and teasing. He had also borrowed a fake gun from a policeman he knew when he thought of killing his wife. The policeman also threatened Govinda as he did not pay for it. If this is not enough, he is giving his head to many new problems. He also gets involved in a murder case before getting out of the existing traps. The subsequent events should be known directly through the film.

There are many twists and turns, but there is nothing new for the audience in the story of the film.Though labeled as a comedy, the main track of the story is different. A few comedies were thrown in as part of an attempt to entertain the audience until it reached that point, but nothing worked out. The nearly two-hour long film takes a long time in the beginning to shift gears. The film moved briskly in the second hour with twists and turns in the story and so on. However, these are not twists that the audience can't guess.Similar charges have been filed before! And the story is presented at a fast pace without giving the audience time to think about anything, so it can be watched. Even though the comedy has gone down, the main weakness of the film is that the audience is unable to connect with the characters. We can only watch the characters without feeling any love, sympathy or anger. So there's another problem, the twists in the climax don't surprise us. As the saying goes, those who have seen films with similar storylines will understand these twists beforehand. The film had great actors but lacked a script to utilize them. Another unfamiliar version of Vicky Kaushal was seen in the film. The scenes were interesting but the actor failed to shine in comedy. But this time the actor shocked with his dance. Those who thought that the actor would not be able to dance are more shocked. Kiara Advani has scored as usual.Although she didn't have great chemistry with Vicky, Suku was a role that the actress could easily pull off. The actress was also the main attraction in the dance scenes. Bhumi Padnekar's screen space was relatively less. The actress was also unable to make a proper impact within the allotted time. Sayaji Shinde, Dayanand Shetty, Amey Wagh and the actress who played Vicky's mother supported the show by nailing their roles. While the Sachin-Jigar tune 'Bijili' and its rendition were catchy, the rest of the songs in the film didn't work. While Vidushi Tiwari's cinematography is above average, the background score and editing are average. The director should have presented the story with a little more seriousness without resorting to comedy.Since it is an OTT release, the film will not make the audience laugh except maybe watched for entertainment. There may be some inconsistencies in the logic, but considering the nature of the film, it can be assumed that they were not seen. It is comforting that the presentation is smooth and there are twists in the storyline.
