Tuniv is a film written and directed by H Vinod. The film starring Ajith has hit the theaters as a Pongal release. Starring Malayalees' favorite Manju Warrier, Samudra Kani and Pavani Reddy, the film is a mix of regular Ajith films. The film is made as a mass entertainer in the thriller genre. The usual spectacle of Ajith capturing the audience with his screen presence continues with Thuniv as well. Manju's performance is also remarkable in the film, who has made full use of the opportunity. The performance in the action scenes was also good.

Meanwhile, director Vinod has failed in terms of story and making the audience believe it.If you think about it in common sense, the story is told in such a way that people other than the hero have little importance or ability. The story starts with a bank robbery and progresses with twists and surprises. Samuthirakani also gives a great performance in the film where Dark Devil, Kanmani and endless bullets are unleashed. The plot of the film revolves around a robbery in a private bank in Chennai. The weakly paced narrative gets tired towards the climax.

The downside is that the director has not been able to bring a grip in the second half that he gets in the first half. While the fight scenes excelled, 'Thala' was loose throughout. Fan moments were sprinkled throughout the film. There are many scenes that rocked the theater including the moonwalk.Tuniv is a better performer than Valimai. But there are no unnecessary noises or songs that make it annoying. The accompaniment of flash bikes brings the reasons behind the formation of the protagonist to the audience. Ajith plays the lead character with a negative shade. Ajith graces his part with gusto. The story of the film, which exposes the corruption and robbery of banks, deals with a topical issue. Rather than telling directly, the director has adopted the method of telling the story. The film also exposes the partisan interference of the media. The director's effort to bring the common man's problem to the silver screen is commendable.Tuniv, not a celebratory film like Mankatha, is careful to maintain a moderation in mass and action. Although there are no punchy dialogues like 'Mani Mani Mani', the film has Tharunu Thala's performance scenes that give a heavy feel. It may seem that Tuniv is trying to follow the pattern of Hollywood action movies. M Gibran's music is satisfying to the audience.Manju Warrier's performance needs to be mentioned. Action films and scenes of actresses that Malayalam cinema is still unattainable have passed before Tamil cinema. Manju's performance in Thuni is the best opportunity for such a Malayali actress. Manju has portrayed Kanmani perfectly with the amount and passion the film demands. It was evident by the screen presence in the action scenes. All in all, the film is Ajith's film. Perhaps a fan boy film. Thuniv is an average movie that can be celebrated by going to the theaters as a Pongal release. Though not 100% enjoyable for family audience, Thuniv is a 'Thala' film that can be enjoyed by youth and fans alike.
