This is the time when fitness centers are sprouting faster than mushrooms in Kerala. At dawn and dusk, the new youth rushes to the gym without any distinction between men and women. While making the body fit, most people enter the gyms with no doubt in their mind.
1 Are all gym goers stunted?
It is a myth that all gym goers become stunted. But don't hit the gym before puberty. Male growth period is upto 25 years. Men should not start workouts like weight training until they are at least twenty years old. Exercises taken in between muscle growth phases can lead to stunted growth.
2. If a regular exerciser stops working out, the muscles will sag. Fat beats more?
This is just a misconception for those who go to gyms for bodybuilding and fitness rather than bodybuilding. Those who build muscle through regular exercise and diet will not sag or gain extra fat when they stop working out. After the age of 60-65, the muscles naturally lose strength and sag. And it doesn't just happen because of working out.
Do not start and end your workout at the gym suddenly. At the end of the workout, you should stop slowly. Light workouts should be done occasionally. Those who build muscle with steroids and the like may end up with sagging muscles and wrinkled skin in the future. When you stop working out, your muscles will shrink. But the skin does not shrink accordingly. There is no science behind the idea that muscle will turn into fat.
3. Should people with bone problems not exercise?
There is a common misconception that people with bone problems such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis should not even look at the gym after going to work out. This is wrong. People with such diseases can not only exercise but it will also help in curing the disease.People with such medical conditions should choose and practice exercises only after taking the combined advice of a doctor and a certified trainer.
4. Does eating more protein lead to more muscle?
It is not true to say that eating more of any food will lead to more muscle mass. Everyone has a different body type. So everyone has to adopt different ways to gain muscle. They should take them with the help of a fitness trainer.
5. Never drink water during a workout?
Definitely drink water. But drinking liters of water during a workout should be avoided.
During exercise, water is lost from the body. The lost water needs to be returned to the body.
Otherwise the body will become dehydrated. Some trainers don't allow water to drink during workouts. This will definitely harm the body. Drink sips and sips of water as your workout progresses.
6. Is morning the best time to workout?
no It is suitable for working out at any time except at night. Working out at night can affect sleep. There are those who believe that if exercise occurs early in the body's metabolism (in the morning), it will help burn more calories. But this notion has no scientific basis.
7. No good if you don't sweat?
There are those who believe that sweating during exercise is a measure of the effect of exercise. So some people work out until they break a sweat and stop when they do. This is just a misunderstanding. Some people may sweat as the muscles warm up during exercise. But this may not be seen in some people.
