Hi everyone. Do read my previous blogs. Today's topic is the major factors to lead a life. The most essential and major factors for a human being or any othe living thing for the existence of life are Temperature, light, water and soil. They are the most important physical factors of the environment to which organisms are adapted in many different ways .
Some environmental factors include light, temperature, humidity, wind , rainfall, water and atmospheric gases.
Importance of light :
It is important for photosynthesis, flowering plants, birds migration, reproductive activities, biological rhythms, plant growth , metabolism and periodicity.
Effect of temperature:
It is the most important factors affecting almost all activities of organism. Most organisms can survive in the temperature range of 5 degree Celsius to 32 degree Celsius except some bacterias like cyanobacteria , shelled protozoa.
Importance of humidity :
It is the amount of water vapours present in the atmosphere. It plays an important role in the life of both plants as well as animals. It promotes the growth of epiphytes, for example orchids and other plants which supports the animal life. It regulates the evaporation of water from the body of land organisms in transpiration and perspiration.
Importance of wind :
Air in the motion is called as wind. It affects both plants and animals. Strong winds cause soil erosion so reducing soil fertility. These are also called desertification by shifting of sand particles to fertile areas. These cause lodging of plants like wheat , rice , maize, oat and sugarcane. These increase the rate of evaporation and transpiration leading to desiccation which cause dwarfism in the plants.
Important of rainfall :
Rainfall is the source of ground water and relative humidity. The amount of annual rainfall greatly affect the vegetation as well as animals population of a particular region.
Importance of water :
Water is essential for life . It covers more than 70 percentage of the earth's surface and forms the most expensive habitat for the organisms. Types of plants and animals distributed in water bodies greatly depends upon the nature of fresh water. Land plants derive water from the soil while the land animals derive water from pools, ponds , lakes , Rivera , spring, etc.
Atmosphere considered a “treasure house of vital resources”:
Atmosphere is defines as a transparent gaseous envelope surrounding the earth. Atmosphere is a treasure house of vital resources. The general circulation of air is responsible for specific climatic conditions and take part in completion of water cycle.
