The elephant's gestation period is 22 months. The average weight of the baby elephant is 100 kg. Babies can only get up after birth.

The average life span of an elephant is 50 to 70 years. Male African elephants can grow up to 3 meters in length and weigh 4,000 to 7,500 kilograms. The Asian elephant is slightly smaller, 2.7 meters long and weighs 3,000-6,000 kg.

Elephants spend 12 to 15 hours a day eating grass, plants and fruits! They use long stems to pick up the smell in the food and put them in their mouths. An adult should eat about 150 kilograms of food every day-50 tons per year!
