Hello and welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in good health and are having a blast of a day.
We will talk about some psychology and in that too some ancient psychology. Now you may have heard about some greek philosophers like Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus and many more.
Stoicism is a teaching of self control and fortitude and its development as a practice to overcome destructive emotions. The ones that believed and practiced stoicism are or were known as the stoics. The stoics believed that our money, our power, our life status, the things in our possession are neither good nor bad and that they have no value in the social perspective in front of our relationships with each other. We are equals. It is defined as enduring pain or even pleasure with showing no emotions. When you dont react when something bad happens to to or when something really amazing happens to you, that is an example of stoicism.
Stoics take on GOD.
The stoics do not believe in gods or a god. They do no believe in any religion but in rational thinking and philosophy. This does not mean that they dont live a happy life. They can not only be happy but also feel every emotion there is to being a human. It does not mean a lack of passion or humor, a stoic person can be happy or sad or angry or emotional and not hide behind a face with no expressions.
Stoics also fall in love, they believe in love. But a bit differently, for them love is a form of friendship with a romantic touch.
Some famous valuable quotes:
External things are not the problem. It is your assessment of them. Which you can erase right now.
~Marcus Aurelius.
I judge you as unfortunate as you have never lived through some misfortune. You have passed through life without an opponent or a challenge, without anyone who can ever know what you are capable of, not even you. ~Seneca.
