Starting A Journaling Habit To Be Your Better Self...

Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in good health and are having a blast of a day.

Journaling is the practice of writing and  arranging your thoughts and emotions to understand your mind better and more clearly. Diary helps us to make our lives better and make our thoughts apprehensible.

Some benefits of journaling are: 

  • Creates mindfulness
  • Reduces stress levels
  • Improves emotional intelligence.
  • Helps in increasing productivity
  • Helps to sleep better.

So, if these benefits compel you in any way so here is a way to start journaling. 

Journaling is like whispering to yourself and listening to yourself at the same time.

• Pick a type of Journaling.

One of the most difficult parts in doing anything is starting a habit and to know what to write about. There are a lot of different types of journaling. So the first to step to this process is to find out what type of journaling is best for you. For example, daily diary, day and night diary, dream journaling, Morning pages, mindfulness journaling, etc..

• Set aside time daily.

Journaling is not going to happen on its own, you have to fit this in your schedule. If you are the person whose mind works best in the morning, set some time earlier in the morning and jot down your thoughts. If you want to record everything after the day is done, then make it a night activity before you go to bed.

 • Use the correct journaling tools.

How you handle your journaling is your personal preference, the important thing is to chose a method that you can do consistently. Try the handwritten journal for a few weeks and see how it goes. Your physical personal journal is more authentic as you can not edit your words with a few clicks. 

• Create a good journaling environment.

Journaling is all about you and your own thoughts. The best way to record your emotions is to minimize your distractions.

•  Stick with your journaling habit.

It might take you some time to make journaling a daily habit. So, it is important to turn your journaling into a habit. When you start with journaling, make that your priority, commit for at least 1 month.
