It was sometimes back in the summer of early 90's , i was in my library busy with my research.

Came through a book where i found something about the city of fireflies. But the catch was the city being underground. It caught my attention all of a sudden. As i went through the lines,turned the pages, i became more excited and curious. 

I keep track of every single book brought in and taken out of my library , but i dont remember buying this book. It was an old book. Some pages were coming out as the stich of the book has aged. The title of the book was hard to read as it was severely damaged and the cover wore off. Its more like a manuscript. Every letters of the book was written by hand and every pages carefully stitched together. 

I wasn't bother about the owner or the source of the book as i was interested about what it has to say.

Few chapters in the beginning only explained about the nature , appearance and breed of the underground fireflies. As i read more, i came to know more .

It defined about a city , a city made up of gold and precious stones. It also provided with a map to get there. But it was not clear or understandable as it was man made. The author of the book must have been there. And so i went on reading. 

The book talked about the old gods protecting the city and how it was remained hidden all these years . Sitting still beneath humanity all these millennials. It talked about panthers, not like the ones we see everyday in the zoo. These panthers were more than just animals, who breeds and protects their city from generations.  The watchers present at each and every inlets and outlets of the city. Nothing could trespass their eyes through. The wind there consisted mercury components which benefits living and non living things underground but acts like poison for the human body. 

I was astonished , spellbound. The words were so hypnotizing to read. I gobbled up every word like an addict on chemicals.

And so i decided to wage an expedition to the centre of the earth. If its true what the book is stating, then i need to find it out and be a witnesses with my very own eyes. 

But i wont be doing it alone nor can i. I needed a team for that, i needed experts. And the search for the team began..
