Dear foodie, welcome back to my 2nd food review! I decided to do a food review today because why not? 

I'm kidding. That's not true. 

I wasn't going to order tonight. But then, one of my friends wanted to Swiggy some food to quench her cravings, as she is going through her time of the month. She wanted me to join her, so hence the write-up. 

We ordered two sandwiches from ‘Sandwich Club’ in Madurai. The reason we chose this meal is not only because both of us love it but also this food item is popular around the world and easy to prepare, the reason being bread paired up with a variety of fillings like chicken, mutton, beef, jam, butter, cheese, nutella, and it still tastes great! 

Fun fact : The world's largest sandwich weighs approximately 2468 kg.

She wanted the Thousand Island Chicken Mayo Sandwich with marinated minced chicken as the filling, while I wanted to try out the Barbeque Chicken Mayo Sandwich with crispy chicken (as usual) as the filling. Both of them cost Rs.179. But of course, the Swiggy discounts help you with your savings. And I was able to save Rs.182, paying only Rs. 231 along with taxes. 

We got to talking about college life, and other topics, outing time (you will understand if you stay in a hostel), upcoming dental materials viva, physiology test…

And finally my phone rang for us to collect our order. 

The one on the left is mine and the other one is hers. After having a bite of mine, I asked her if she would like to try mine, in response to which she suggested that we swap the other half of each other's sandwich. Smart right? This way you can consume your share and their share without stealing. 

My BBQ chicken sandwich was a delight. My friend's half of the sandwich however was a spicy(probably because of the marinated chicken). Which heightened the hot sensation on our tongue which we had to tamp down with some water and Dairy Milk shorts. 

Fun fact : Sandwiches were first invented in England. By John Montagu, the 4rth Earl of Sandwich. Apparently he was playing cards and did not want to leave the gaming table to satisfy his hunger, hence he wanted a serving of roast beef placed between two slices of bread, so he could eat with his hands. No wonder about 12 million sandwiches are eaten in the United Kindom each year. 

Today's dinner was delectable. And filling. And worth the price!
