So before we get started can we have some sweet.

Okay

Let's make it I show you an simple recipe of an traditional Tamilnadu sweet which is called Ashoka halwa.

For that youll need the following ingredients

Moong Deal

Sugar

Ghee/ clarified butter

Wheat flour

Water

Salt

Cashews , raisins and your favorite nuts.

Food color (optional)

Let's get started

Take half cup of moong deal wash it clearly and add it to the pressure cooker.

Add a cup of water and cook it for about four whistles until it becomes soft and mushy.

Turn off the stove and wait for the pressure to release completely

Open the cooker and wait for the dal to cool after it gets cooled transfer it to a mixer grinder and grind it completely.

Now

Take a heavy bottom pan and add some quarter cup of ghee or clarified butter to it roast your favorite nuts and keep it aside .

Add two tablespoons of sheet floor and mix it with ghee once it is cooked  add the grinded dal into the pan and cook it after sometime add one cup of sugar gradullay by mixing it with the dal also add a pinch of salt to it.

Once sugar gets melted it becomes a watery consistency keep the stove in low flame otherwise it will get stick to the pan.

Now add the remaining ghee gradually and mix well now the mixture will get thickens.

Now add all the roasted nuts into the halwa and also food colour if you want . Mix it well the halwa will separates from pan and starts to release ghee .

Its time to switch off the flame transfer halwa to the bowl and its time to taste it.

Have a good dessert….

Stay tuned…………

With love,
