Hello everyone! In this blog is about tips to treat a cold in home…..
Practice deep breathing techniques while sitting quietly:
Deep breathing calms your nervous system and relaxes your muscles. Try this exercise: Inhale slowly through your nose and hold your breath for five seconds. Then exhale through your mouth slowly. Repeat this 10 times.
Drink plenty of water:
When you feel a cold coming on, your body needs hydration. You should drink at least eight glasses of water daily. This will help flush out excess mucus from the sinuses and lungs.
Stay warm:
You can get rid of the common cold by staying warm.
Warm baths may sound like a luxury but they can actually lower your body temperature and reduce inflammation and swelling. To do this, fill the tub with warm water, make sure that the bathtub is clean, and soak yourself for 10-15 minutes. Make sure to breathe slowly throughout the duration of the bath. If you feel too hot after this time, then just get out and take a shower. This method is great for people who have already been sick for some time.
Get rest:
A good night’s sleep will give you energy and help clear your head of cold symptoms. If possible, go to bed early and wake up at a regular time each day.Getting less than six hours of sleep per night can lead to irritability and fatigue.
Take vitamins:
Vitamins A, C, D, E, and K help boost immunity and keep your body healthy by strengthening your immune system. If you don't get enough of these vitamins through food, consider taking a vitamin supplement.
Have something hot to drink:
Make yourself some tea, coffee or soup. You might even feel better if you have some of your favorite snack with you.
Avoid caffeine:
This drinks can make you feel worse when you're sick since they dehydrate you and worsen symptoms.
Eat well-balanced meals:
Avoid high-fat foods and fried foods. They can worsen symptoms and make the illness last longer. Instead eat lean protein, fiber-rich carbohydrates, healthy fats, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Apply warm moist compresses:
When you have a fever, apply warm moist compresses to your forehead, hands, feet, and back. This may help reduce some of the symptoms associated with a cold.
Homemade herbal tea:
Echinacea has long been used to promote healthy immune function. A recent study found that the herb may help kill off bacteria. In addition to echinacea's benefits, mint tea is thought to cool the sinuses while peppermint tea helps with congestion.
Ginger:
Ginger has been used for centuries to reduce the symptoms of colds. It can help to ease congestion, sore throat, and fever. Also ginger contains antioxidants that lower inflammatory responses.
