What Are The Things Avoid During Pregnancy

Hello everyone! In this blog is about pregnancy….

Alcohol:

Alcohol consumption at any time of pregnancy may affect the fetus adversely. Also, alcohol use while breastfeeding increases the risk of low birth weight neonates. It should therefore be avoided.

Tobacco:

It is known to cause miscarriage, premature labor, stillbirth, and congenital abnormalities. Women who smoke a few cigarettes over the course of their pregnancy have a greater risk of having a baby with a birth defect than women who do not smoke. Smoking during the first trimester especially increases the chances of a child being born with certain chromosomal disorders. A pregnant woman should never begin smoking again after she has given birth.

Medications (including over-the counter)

Most medications are safe if taken as directed, however, they could affect fetal growth. Certain medications have been associated with low birthweight babies, preterm labor, and even miscarriages. Therefore, it is best to consult your doctor before taking any medication during pregnancy.

Food/Food Additives:

Certain foods may trigger some adverse reactions. While we don't know what happens inside your body, it's best to stay away from them until they have passed through the placenta.

Herbs:

Herbal remedies can provide relief for many different symptoms, but they are often not well tested for safety. Even natural herbs and supplements sometimes pose potential risks. Many herbal remedies are actually unsafe.Consult your healthcare provider about using herbs and supplements during pregnancy.

X-rays:

X-ray exposure to expectant mothers has been linked with cancer later in life. Exposure to radiation can cause genetic mutations and problems in the developing fetus. Therefore, pregnant women should avoid x-rays unless absolutely necessary.

Mercury:

Mercury is a heavy metal that accumulates in the human body over time. Pregnant women are particularly vulnerable to mercury poisoning due to increased intake of seafood and consumption of products containing fish and shellfish.Avoiding these food items altogether is recommended.

Go natural with your beauty routine:

Pregnancy doesn't mean getting rid of your daily skin care regime. Instead, opt for simple skincare routines that minimize the number of chemicals you're using. Use natural moisturizer, such as aloe vera gel, instead of lotions and creams, as they won’t clog pores or irritate sensitive skin. You can also replace soap with herbal cleansers that don't dry out your skin.

Do not take antibiotics without a prescription:

Antibiotics taken without a prescription may lead to serious problems including allergic reactions, birth defects, diarrhea, dehydration, infections, kidney damage, liver failure, miscarriage, and premature babies. If you get sick, talk to your doctor about whether you need antibiotic treatment.
