The movie starts near kashmir. There R & AW officer Veeraraghavan (Vijay) is preparing for the mission for three months. At least last minute, the Government of India decides to discontinue the mission, but Veera opposes the order from his own boss and decides to proceed according to his original plan. He managed to complete his mission successfully, but as a result he was psychologically hurt and forced to quit service and go home forever. A few months later, he realized he was in the middle of a hostage.

Nelson is best known for his spectacular use of dark comedy in the first two films. His use of humour worked astoundingly in his comedy brand rarely exists in Beast. Beast acts as a star vehicle solely for the purpose of improving vijay's star image. This attempt is justified by the movie's well- action sequences and exquisite visuals, but the lack of nelson's comedy brand is a major disappointment. Beats are still worth your time, but its not as interesting as Nelson's previous movies. There is something put together by the vijay. The one-man show is completely entertaining, but not enough to save a disappointing movie.

In bits and pieces, Beast lives up to all the pre-release hype. The action sequences, which were highly talked about much before release, stand out and Vijay kills it with his charisma in these scenes. This is Vijay's most stylish film but it's also one where the style supersedes substance so much that you can't enjoy it after a point. If only the stylish treatment was strongly complemented by good writing, especially a stronger antagonist, the film wouldn't have disappointment at places. As much as Nelson tries to stick to his storytelling templete by introducing characters who aid the hero in the rescue mission just like in his last film Doctor; these aren't as funny and memorable as they were in that film.

Neither movie is disappointing, but Vijay isn't as inspiring to beast as he was last time at master. "Beast: is compared because the tangential showcases of characters supporting cartoons such as  negotiator Altaf and security company boss Dominique are scattered. T don't think it's important. some of these characters, such as Veera's love interest Preethi(Pooja Hedge) and her relentless finance Ram rarely in the film but he looks more comfortable making photo booth-worthy faces while firing a big gun in slow-motion.
