Ahhh !!! So I happened to join gym 2 years back as it is a craze among the college students and I dint want to be left out .To my astonishment , I noticed people of various age groups doing weight lifting ( 20-55years) .I was shocked because I was not able to even hold a 3 kg dumbbell for 5 seconds .My curiosity kicked in , so I had a little chat with one of the lady who has been doing DEAD LIFT for 5 years . She was of normal body type , not lean , no fat and surprisingly with no big shoulders and muscles !! OMG !!!!
There I am , dumbstruck and thinking of the whole concept of lifting weights makes big muscles fed into me was all false . All not true. I eagerly went home and searched every article about weight training . Anyways I am happy that I have unveiled this misconception . Should I start with a definition ? No, don't want to make this a medical answer paper rather give you all a brief and keep it precise .
Weight training is training the muscles with some resistance (weights).This comes under Strength training . This is considered as anaerobic exercise as this is done In a shorter duration with less oxygen supply to the body cells. The significance of this is it causes more of AFTER BURN unlike aerobic exercise .
Lets brush up some basic science . The muscles and bone form the connective tissue network in the human body . The muscles are attached to the bone through a structure called tendons . Training muscles with any kind of resistance causes contraction and relaxation of muscle . This frequent movements causes following movements
These movements causes after burn leading to fat loss in the body as well as improves the density of bone by strengthening it .So , that was the main concept and the effects of Weight training .
I would like to emphasis the importance of this training in women as they are commonly affected with osteoporosis . Since they tend to easily lose the muscle mass and have decreased bone density.
In coming days I would like to enlighten you all more on the benefits of this exercise .Here I would like to conclude that its time for all of us to wake up and realise the necessity of being healthy and fit in this grave pandemic situation . Start shaking and training your body .
