It was ruled by Guhil and Sisodia dynasty, this huge fort built at a height of 180 meters is spread over 691.9 acres of land, today thousands of tourists come to see the fort of Chittorgarh, let's know the history of this fort.

Chittorgarh has been counted among the largest forts in India, it has also been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It used to be the capital of Mewar state in medieval Rajasthan history.

History of Chittorgarh Fort:-

The pride of Rajasthan and the head of forts, the fort of Chittorgarh is built on a huge mountain peak of the Aravalli range near the confluence of rivers Gambhir and Beach, 3 km from Chittorgarh Junction on Ajmer Khandwa Railway.

A symbol of valor, sacrifice, and self-respect Chittor's fort is also distinguished from the point of view of architecture, the famous folklore about the fort, then Chittor all the rest points toward the strength and architectural superiority of the fort.

He could not achieve his goal and in fierce anger, he hit his foot hard on the ground, due to which the water source burst there, this pool of water is called Bhima Tal, later this place was under Maurya or Maur dynasty.

Its height is 1850 feet above sea level, its length is about 8 kilometers and its width is 2 kilometers in terms of area.  It is a difficult task to trace the antiquity of Chittorgarh, but it is believed that in the Mahabharata period, Mahabali Bhima visited this place to understand the secrets of immortality and made a pandit his guru, but was impatient before completing the whole process.

There are different opinions as to when it came under the Mewar rulers, but Chittorgarh remained the capital of Mewar until 1568 before the capital was moved to Udaipur.  It is believed that Gulia dynasty Bappa Rawal received Chittor as a part of the dowry when he married the last Solanki princess in the middle of the 8th century, later her descendants ruled Mewar which was Gujarat till the 16th.  It had spread till Ajmer.

The circumference of the hill is about 8 miles and it is situated on a total of 609 acres of land.  Chittorgarh is that brave land that has presented a unique example of bravery, patriotism, and sacrifice in front of the whole of India.  Innumerable Rajput heroes here took a bath in the Asidhararupi shrine to protect their country and religion.

By a train going from Ajmer to Khandwa, about 2 miles north-east of Chittorgarh Junction, a separate hill feet high in a huge (whale fish) shape, this fort built on a hill is about 3 miles long and up to half a mile.  is wide.
